had a simple question about the hydrolic fluid thats used in the power trim to
elevate the outboard. its a mercruiser i/o 1978 120 hp. my out board wont go up
or down any more and i dont know when the last time it was replenished with
hydrolic fluid but i think its low. it used to work just fine, i just dont know
how or where to put any hydrolic fluid? does it go straight into the motor of
the trim unit through the top or is there another place? if you could e mail me
back that would be great. thank you

Hello you can use 30 wt motor oil and you fill it in the top of the reservoir  fill it in the up position

i think steve meant to say fill it in the down position

otherwise when the outdrive comes down

the fluid returning to the reservoir will overflow
