Temperature sensor?

Hi, I think I'm looking for a temperature sending unit for my 1989 OMC (432APRMED).

Is this part #63 at http://www.crowleymarine.com/johnson-evinrude/parts/31213.cfm?

When I turn the key on, the gauge drops out-of-sight to the left and never comes up, meaning the gauge is at least getting power.

iI worked just a few weeks ago, holding steady at 160 deg.

it sounds like the gauge is faulty

the sender wont make the gauge go off the scale

I think you're right because I replaced the sensor to no avail - turning key on pins gauge far left and it never rises. Thanks.
