I have twin 7.4 MPI's in my Sea Ray (1997). I want to replace the 2 V belts - just as PM. I loosened the alternator and the idler pulley and now have both belts just hanging on the crank pulley. Problem is that there is not enough gap to slide them between the crank pulley and the circulating pump pulley. I assumed that I had to remove the circulating pump pulley and removed the 4 bolts. But the pulley did not seem to want to come off. Before starting to heave on it or pry it off with a bar I figured I had better check if this is the best way to get the belts off. I have attcahe da marked up picture from the manual. Hoep you can help.
Thanks,

you were on the right track.. i remember having the same exact problem a long time ago.. yet one more reason i would like to meet some of mercury's engineers... any way.. the pulley does come off with some coercion the first time..
