I would like to replace the Mercruiser exhaust bellows with an exhaust tube Part No. 78458A1. The manual seems to indicate that this can be done without removing the stern drive as would be necessary if replacing with bellows. Must the stern drive be removed to install the exhaust tube?

The drive is a 1992 Alpha I Gen II
