Evinrude Stop Switch

Hi,

I have a 1994 25hp evinrude (E25RERC).. It has no spark.. I unplug the stop switch in the tiller handle and i have spark..

There is continuity from the switch to the ground circuit when the switch is unplugged or plugged in (0 ohms).. When the switch is pushed in, the circuit breaks and the ohm meter reads 1

still no spark when plugged in..

Any ideas??? I'm baffled....

Boat Parts Support Forum - Crowley Marine

Try to bypass the switch and see if that is the issue. I am willing to bet you are not getting a good connection in the switch. I attached a schematic that may help.
