I have an older OMC salt water special and the power trim is will only work to raise the engine but will not take it back down.  I have taken it in to the OMC dealer and they are not willing to explore the problem.  I would think this is not a major problem so my question is this.  Should this be a repair kit type of rebuild or would it be better to up date the power trim system with something current.  I am not sure if a new jack plate will match the templet of the older sea- drive.  Are there conversion kit on the market that will accomodate this conversion?
