1. Make certain the drive is filled to its maximum level with the appropriate gear lubricant.

2. Make certain that all bolts and screws are tightened according to factory installation specifications.

3. To ensure a balanced break-in, engage the reverse gear approximately 25-30 times during the first 10-hours of drive operation.

4. DO NOT gradually engage into gear. Grinding the gears will result in premature gear failures.

5. DO NOT perform full-throttle starts.

6. DO NOT operate at one constant speed for prolonged periods for the first 10-20 hours of drive operation.

7. DO NOT exceed 75% of full throttle during the first 5-hours. After the first 5 hours it is acceptable to operate at full throttle intermittently.

8. Clean the drive and transom assembly after each use to reduce the potential for corrosion. Expecially in salt or brackish water.
